As more countries manage and mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, the toll of the outbreak continues to significantly affect companies, employees and the overall economy.

Yet business leaders are sending messages of encouragement while facing adversity. Among them, Ghassan Aboud, CEO and Founder of the Ghassan Aboud Group, has shared a hopeful message, stating that positivity always comes out of negative reality and that there is a “need for investment in natural resources in a smart way to rationalize consumption.”

“What I would like to say is that amid this pandemic, there is nothing that will help us recover from this catastrophe better than synergy – a solidarity among businessmen to get through this together,” said the Syrian billionaire businessman in a short video. “Likewise, the solidarity between us and the government that, God willing, will give us strength for the coming days.”

While pointing out the encouragement and assistance of the local government, Ghassan, who was among Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 Tycoons, said that there should be “mutual support between us and society”.

“Our role is to spread love and optimism so that we can all overcome this pandemic. We must also draw better days through this bad reality, to show a world beyond COVID-19 by rationalizing natural resources, good consumption, and aiming for and achieving performance development,” said Aboud.

The U.A.E-based businessman established his eponymous conglomerate in 1994, which has since branched out into various key sectors such as real estate, media, retail, logistics and automotive across the world, with annual revenues of $1.5 billion.

Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of Saudi’s Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), and Adeeb Ahamed, Managing Director of Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Financial Group, have also sent hopeful and encouraging messages to their respective communities.
